He was sentenced to eleven months in jail for a deadly hit-and-run crash in 2006, but was released after only four months.
Now, a judge wants the man once considered BC’s worst car thief to spend another year behind bars.
Xiao Zhang was handed a 539-day jail sentence, after pleading guilty to 33 charges related to scamming people out of expensive goods by pretending to be a courier.
But with 190-days credit for time already served, that means the 25-year-old will only spend another year in custody.
Zhang has also been given three years probation and a ten-year driving ban.
Zhang is best known for killing a doctor from New Zealand in a downtown hit and run in 2006.
But within four years of being given full parole, he was back in police custody.
