More same-sex couples are living in the Vancouver area.
And more young adults here are living at home.
About 17-hundred more same-sex couples call the Vancouver metropolitan area home.
They used to count one percent of all couples in the region, now up to 1.2 percent.
Meanwhile, 46.7 percent of young adults in the Vancouver region — those 20 to 29 years old — still live at home.
That’s almost half — and above the national average of 42.3 percent.
Stats can says many young adults still live at home either because they never left or they’ve returned after leaving the nest.
And the proportions are above average in areas where the cost of living is high and where many immigrants live.
