Music Therapy Ride gears up for another year

The 11th annual Music Therapy Ride, featuring several local – and not-so-local – celebrities is set for Saturday.
And this year’s event includes a destination change…
Instead of riding from Vancouver to Whistler, bikers including 54-40 – the band celebrating its 30th anniversary – will travel to Harrison Hot Springs from Surrey.
Sophie, Nick and Shannon Tweed-Simmons from A&E’s ‘Family Jewels’ are also taking part in the fundraiser, which has collected more than half a million dollars over the past decade for the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
Proceeds from this year’s sold-out ride will buy another mobile recording studio to be shared by various care facilities in the Lower Mainland.
Riders will be escorted from the Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino by the Vancouver Police motorcycle drill.
