Over a 100 Vancouverites are gathering to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street.
On September 17th 2011, New York City’s Zuccotti Park became the focal point of what would spark similar worldwide protests against perceived social and economic inequality, including Vancouver’s own occupation at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Stephen Collis is an organizer of this weekend’s anniversary gathering in Grandview Park.
“We’ve chosen to have a meeting to respond to Occupy Wall Street’s anniversary, have a discussion about what’s actually happened in this global movement over the past year.”
A similar gathering is set for Monday at the federal building at 5:00pm.
