Today is the first anniversary of the start of Occupy Wall Street in New York.
And although the first anniversary of Occupy Vancouver is not for another month, supporters of the movement are expected to gather in Vancouver Monday evening.
They’re planning to be at the federal building on West Georgia Street and Hamilton at 5pm to mark the start of the movement in New York, and the day parliament re-opens — to “tell Harper we are watching” — according to the Occupy Vancouver website.
This gathering follows one over the weekend at Grandview Park.
The Vancouver occupation, which lasted more than one month at the Art Gallery — started October 15th last year.
