Picket lines could soon come down at BC Place

The BC Government and Service Employees’ Union is pleased with an agreement reached Monday with the BC Pavilion Corporation, which operates BC Place.

Karen Tankard with the Union says they were able to get many of the things they were seeking, “For instance, we were asking for a wage increase for our members, we got them four percent over two years. This tentative agreement also addresses the important issues of contracting out, anti-bullying provisions, and, as well, it also addresses scheduling.  those were really the big issues for us.”

The deal expires on May 31, 2015, and still has to be ratified by union members.

The last contract expired at the end of last May.
