Pipeline opponents target premier

Opponents of plans to build new pipelines along the BC coast are hoping to take their message directly to the premier today.

Hundreds of people are expected at Kits beach — to take a photo.

That photo will then be used in a full-page ad in both major local newspapers.

Organizer Kevin Washbrook says the location of the photo is no coincidence — it’s the premier’s riding.

“This isn’t just about the ad, the ad is the first step. This is about meeting our neighbours, building face-to-face relationships and gettting organized for the next election. We’re saying we care about this, and we’re going to be voting about this next may, so Christy Clark, it’s time to get off the fence and tell us what you really think.”

More than $ 13,000 dollars is needed to buy the newspaper space.
