Police review memory card in hang-gliding death probe

Abbotsford serious crime investigators have now viewed a video on a memory card that may contain evidence in the April hang-gliding death of 27-year-old Lenami Godinez-Avila.

The glider pilot, Jon Orders, has been charged with obstruction of justice after swallowing that data chip.

Police are not saying what’s on that chip, as that may come out later in court.

Orders’ trial will begin next April.

Yesterday, the Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association of Canada determined it was not a problem with equipment or weather, but pilot error in the woman’s death.

A report says it appears she was not connected to the glider, and orders did not perform the proper check.
