Residents fight development at Arbutus and 15th

People unhappy with a new development at Arbutus Street and 15th Avenue, say it threatens the landmark “Ridge” theatre – and they want their MLA to get involved.
Their MLA?
Premier Christy Clark…

“She is in a tight riding she will need each one of our votes if she wants to get elected there is an election coming up… I have heard just incidentally that she is not going to run again in Point-Grey becasue she didn’t like how close the race was last time so that might be all the moe reason to get her involved in this community project.”

The Cressey Development Group proposal for 15th and Arbutus was voted down, nine to one, by the city’s urban design panel.
But people in the area say the fight isn’t over and the proposal threatens the landmark Ridge Theatre and nearby bowling lanes.
