Skipper faces weapons charges

Charges have now been laid agains the skipper of a fishboat involved in a tense situation off the coast of Vancouver Island Sunday night.

The other two people on board claim the skipper was high on cocaine, armed with a shotgun, and threatening to kill them.

RCMP were eventually able to locate the boat and the two crewmembers jumped to safety.

Now charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and careless use of a firearm is 49 year old Karl Darwin Thomas of Courtenay.
