The NDP accuse the Premier of “trickery” and “word games” over CLBC controversy

The NDP says Premier Christy Clark is playing word games in her attempt to defuse the latest controversy over Community Living BC.

Critic Nicholas Simons doesn’t buy Clark’s claim that CLBC executives have not been given raises in lieu of bonuses that were supposedly cancelled last year.

“I don’t think British Columbians are buying this, I think they’re tired of the kind of word games and trickery, this just sort of reinforces peoples’ concern and in my mind this is simply another example of poor leadership, bad judgement.”

Simons says the premier’s explanation for the apparent bonus flip-flop will fall on deaf ears.

“Clearly the public was under the impression that people were no longer to get the bonuses, and they weren’t told that these bonuses would simply be rolled into salary, if that was the case then they should have said it.   and not knowing or not understanding it I don’t think is something that people are gonna believe.”

Simons is repeating his call for an external review of Community Living BC.
