After a day of advance voting in two ridings up for by-election and things seem to be on pace compared to past advance polls.
In Chilliwack Hope 1010 people have cast a ballot, in Port Moody Coquitlam the number is 749.
As for comparisons to advance polls in past votes Elections BC spokesperson Don Main said “These are very similar, just slightly off from both the Vancouver Point Grey by-election that was done in 2011 and from the 2009 general election. There is literally within points of a percentage point difference. So the turn out looks to be fairly similar.”
Main says if past trend stay true advance voting might slow down today and tomorrow and then pick up again on Saturday, the last day of advance polls.
Voting day is one week from today.
