VANCOUVER – Police in B.C.’s Lower Mainland are investigating two separate crashes that killed one person and sent several others to hospital.
RCMP say poor weather and speed may have contributed to a fatal crash around 9:30 p.m. last night in Langley.
An 18-year-old passenger was declared dead at the scene after a BMW went off the road, hit and tree and came to rest against another.
Mounties are considering recommending charges for that driver, as well as for the driver of a second car that also lost control while travelling alongside the BMW.
Meanwhile in downtown Vancouver, firefighters had to cut two people out of a car after it clipped an empty street sweeper just before 4 a.m.
Three people are in hospital getting tested to determine the extent of their non-life-threatening injuries.
