Vancouver’s horse-racing hero is coming home – for one day, at least.
Mario Gutierrez, who rode I’ll Have Another to victory in the Kentucky Derby, will be on hand at Hastings Park Race Course Sunday afternoon to meet fans.
“From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in front of our winners’ circle, where fans can get a picture taken with Mario and get a Mario Gutierrez Kentucky Derby-winning trading card,” says Hastings Park general manager Raj Mutti.
Gutierrez spent six years riding at Hastings before heading south.
