Avoid public displays of affection in Muslim countries

It’s often considered improper for a male to kiss a female acquaintance on the cheek or even offer his hand to most women until she has offered hers first. But such modesty isn’t limited to Muslim countries: Cambodians find public affection so egregious that even newlyweds are forbidden to kiss at their wedding ceremony.
