“Archer” Scores A Fourth Season

FX has given the order for a thirteen episode fourth season of “Archer”, its highly acclaimed and multi-award nominated animated series reports TV Line.

The combination of spy thriller, dysfunctional office comedy and very adult humour has nearly doubled its audience in the key demographic since its first season and now pulls in 3.3 million total viewers (and 2.5 million adults 18-49) for each episode.

Four further episodes of the third season remain to air with the finale set for March 22nd. It’s presently unknown if, like last year, several episodes of next season will air this Fall ahead of the main block of episodes next January.

Showrunners Adam Reed and Matt Thompson along with their Floyd County Productions, the animation studio that produces the series, has also closed an overall deal with FX Productions. The deal is two years with an option for an additional two years, suggesting that as long as the audience is there, at least one or two additional seasons of “Archer” are a fairly safe bet.
