“Bad Santa” Sequel Gets Scribes

It’s now confirmed via The L.A. Times that Dimension Films is developing a sequel to the Billy Bob Thornton-led 2003 black comedy “Bad Santa”.

Dimension has commissioned two different writers to pen two entirely different scripts, with the idea of choosing between the scripts or even using one script for “Bad Santa 2” and the other script for a third film. Thornton has expressed a desire to reprise his role.

The scribes are newcomers Johnny Rosenthal and John Phillips. Geyer Koskini will produce the film. “Crazy Stupid Love” directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa penned the original, both they and director Terry Zwigoff won’t be involved this time out.
