“Baywatch” Scribe Talks Film Adaptation

“Rescue Me” co-creator Peter Tolan tells The Matthew Aaron Show podcast that he’s just completed the writing of the film adaptation of 90’s syndicated hit “Baywatch”.

Tolan says his version is “not a parody, it’s not based on the show in any way, there are a couple winks to the show but that’s about it. It’s a whole new idea and new characters.” He went on to say “It’s definitely a comedy, it’s not camp, it’s just imagining that that is a real thing and that it’s a real program.”

Tolan adds that his film is more akin to “Stripes” and actors David Hasselhoff & Pamela Anderson have roles. The script was turned into Paramount Pictures a few days ago and is currently in development.
