Ben Wheatley (“Kill List,” “Sightseers”) is locking down a deal to direct the high concept horror flick “Freakshift” for Lava Bear, Rook Films and Film4 says Empire.
The story involves a world where creatures rise up at night and terrorise decent citizens, leading to a government sponsored group of thrill-seeking hunters who hunt them “for duty, sport and money.”
Wheatley says the budget runs about $ 15 million and the film itself is “like Hill Street Blues vs. Monsters”. Shooting aims to begin in the first quarter of 2013.
