Ben Whishaw (“Skyfall,” “Cloud Atlas”) is being sought for a key role in Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi epic “Robopocalypse” at Dreamworks and 20th Century Fox reports Variety.
The story deals with the fate of the human race after a robot uprising. Whishaw has apparently been at the top of the studio’s list to play a hacker named ‘Lurker’ since the casting process began, but no formal offer has been made as yet.
Chris Hemsworth is in negotiations for the male lead while Anne Hathaway has been approached for the female lead. Drew Goddard adapted the script from Daniel H. Wilson’s novel while Spielberg and Tom Rothman will produce.
