Chandler Canterbury and Boyd Holbrook are in final negotiations to round out the cast of Andrew Niccol’s “The Host” at Open Road Films and Chockstone Pictures says Variety.
An adaptation of “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s popular sci-fi novel, Saoirse Ronan plays Melanie Stryder, a young woman whose body is invaded by an alien named Wanderer.
Max Irons (“Red Riding Hood”) and Jake Abel will play the male leads, while William Hurt and Diane Kruger also star.
Canterbury will play Ronan’s younger brother, whom she goes on an arduous journey to find, while Holbrook will play Abel’s macho brother.
Nick Wechsler is producing. Shooting kicks off at the end of the month in Louisiana and New Mexico.
