Twelve Years A Slave
“Sherlock” and “Star Trek 2” star Benedict Cumberbatch is set to join the cast of “Shame” and “Hunger” director Steve McQueen’s latest project “Twelve Years a Slave”.

Cumberbatch is in line to play a 19th century Louisiana cotton plantation owner who buys Chiwetel Ejiofor’s forced into slavery character and is won over by his engineering skills. [Source: The Guardian]

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Three names were mentioned for the key role of Finnick Odair in the upcoming “The Hunger Games” sequel, now one of those names is out of the running.

“John Carter” and “Battleship” star Taylor Kitsch won’t take the role, the actor’s commitments to Peter Berg’s Navy SEAL drama “Lone Survivor” have ruled him out. [Source: CNN]

Premature
“The Killing” actress Katie Findlay has landed the female lead opposite John Karna in Dan Beers’ teen comedy “Premature” at FilmNation Entertainment.

Karna plays a high school student who begins testing the boundaries when he finds his epic day repeating itself. Findlay will play his best friend. [Source: Variety]

Woody Allen’s Next
“Lost” and “Person of Interest” actor Michael Emerson has joined the cast of Woody Allen’s next film.

Emerson will shoot while on hiatus from ‘Interest’ and joins a cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale and Bradley Cooper. [Source: Deadline]
