Casting News: Furnace, Grown, Wright

Out of the Furnace
Woody Harrelson is in negotiations to play the villain in Scott Cooper’s crime drama “Out of the Furnace” at Relativity Media. Shooting kicks off later this month in Pennsylvania.

Harrelson is in talks to play Curtis DeGroat, a crime ringleader whom Christian Bale’s character winds up seeking vengeance against. Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepard also star. [Source: Variety]

Grown Ups 2
David Henrie (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) has joined the cast of the sequel “Grown Ups 2” at Sony Pictures and Happy Madison.

Henrie will join Taylor Lautner among a group of frat boys who run up against star Adam Sandler and his childhood friends (Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider). [Source: Variety]

Wright Girls
Gemma Arterton is in negotiations to star in the dark comedy-thriller “The Wright Girls” from Relativity and Atlas Entertainment.

Inspired by the Japanese movie 2LDK, the story revolves around two young actresses who live together, pretend to be best friends and are co-stars on a successful television show.

In reality, they detest each other and go to extreme and violent lengths to do one another in when they end up competing for the same movie role. [Source: Yahoo]
