Miles Chapman has been hired to pen the adaptation of Andrew Klavan’s young adult novel series “Homelanders” for Summit Entertainment says Heat Vision.
The story centers on a high school student who wakes up to find himself tied to a chair, not knowing where he is or how a whole year has passed. After he manages to escape, he embarks on an adventure to find out why terrorists and the authorities are after him. A sci-fi element will be added to the film version.
“Smallville” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are working with Chapman to develop the project and are in talks to make their directorial debut on the project. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing.
Two of Klavan’s earlier novels, “True Crime” and “Don’t Say a Word”, have been adapted for film. He also penned the script “The Tomb” which Antoine Fuqua is attached to direct.
