Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the English language remake rights to the Danish film and TV series “Clown” (“Klovn”) reports Deadline.
“Tropic Thunder” and “Your Highness” actor Danny McBride will write, produce and star in the film about two men who set out on a canoeing trip on which they plan to party hard.
Then one of them discovers his girlfriend is pregnant and will only carry the baby if he can prove he’ll be a worthy father.
To do so he takes her 13-year old son on the trip without changing any of their plans for debauchery. One key difference, aside from the language change, is the age difference – the kid in the original was 11 years old.
Todd Phillips will also produce. McBride is expected to get work on the project shortly.
