Elton John and screenwriter Lee Hall (“War Horse,” “Billy Elliot”) are teaming for the biopic “Rocketman” reports Deadline.
Described as a “biographical musical fantasy”, the story follows a musician trying to navigate through the rough patches in his life. It will incorporate elements of John’s life – being a child piano prodigy at age 11, the rebellion against his strict upbringing, and teaming up with songwriter Bernie Taupin.
There will also be choreographed musical numbers set to his hit songs. John, Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish will produce while a director isn’t attached yet.
