Ferrell, Gillespie Join “Flamingo Thief”

Will Ferrell is attached to star and Craig Gillespie (“Lars and the Real Girl,” “Mr. Woodcock”) is in negotiations to direct “Flamingo Thief” for Red Hour Films says Variety.

Michael LeSieur (“You, Me and Dupree”) adapted Susan Trott’s novel about a lawyer who becomes obsessed with stealing figurines of flamingos after his wife leaves him.

Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld will produce. No word on scheduling as Ferrell is committed to the “Anchorman” sequel and the football comedy “Three Mississippi.”
