“Game of Thrones” Photos, Video, Talk

HBO has released more new gorgeous photos from the upcoming second season of “Game of Thrones”, along with a new 22-minute featurette entitled ‘You Win or You Die’ and a Q&A with co-creators and executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Said clip features interviews and gives us a recap of key events in the first season, and a bit of a preview of things to come in the second. The most interesting quotes however come from the Q&A and deal with the faithfulness of these adaptations.

The first season was quite faithful, its few changes were generally received well. As for the second season? Benioff says “We’re not looking at our series as a book-by-book adaptation so much as an adaptation of George’s entire saga. In other words, in our minds season two is not ‘A Clash of Kings’. It is the second season of our adaptation of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire.'” D.B. Weiss adds that fans of the show “can expect to be surprised by some of what happens.”

What about future seasons? Weiss says “Well… “A Storm of Swords” is too long to fit in a single season. And as readers know, “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons” take place during roughly the same time frame, so we’ll have to fold those together. The plan, if we’re lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see it through, is to use as many seasons as we need to tell the story as a whole, to do justice to George’s entire opus.”

The full Q&A is available to read at Game of Owns. You can access the gallery of pics and the clip below:
