Just in time for the release of franchise rebooter “Halo 4” this Fall, gaming site network Machinima will premiere a tie-in live action web series entitled “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn” reports Variety.
Microsoft will produce the web series which will consist of five 15-minute shorts, each telling an original story about the game’s Master Chief and how they inspired a young UNSC cadet to become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity.
Said cadet character ties directly into the plot of the new game. Full details about the story, cast and director will be announced at Comic Con in July.
The project marks the company’s biggest live action investment ever put towards the game and could be seen as a precursor to another attempt to get an actual live action theatrical feature into production.
