Harington, Kinnaman Up For “Arthur”

Kit Harington, best known as the bastard Jon Snow in HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, and AMC’s “The Killing” star Joel Kinnaman are the frontrunners for David Dobkin‘s $ 90 million re-imagining of the tale of “Arthur and Lancelot” at Warner Bros. Pictures reports The Playlist.

The duo did a screen test together in London a couple of weeks ago and beat out the likes of Sam Claflin, Dominic Cooper, Hans Matheson, Jim Sturgess, Ben Walker and Liam Hemsworth for key roles. It’s not known which actor would play which part.

The project is thought to have been the film that scuttled both Bryan Singer and Guy Ritchie‘s competing “Excalibur” remakes at the studio. Shooting is scheduled to begin next year for a March 2013 release.
