The “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father” project hit another hiccup today with Joe Pesci filing a lawsuit in Los Angeles against the project’s producer Fiore Films says The International Business times.
Pesci claims he was offered the role of Gotti Sr right-hand man Angelo Ruggiero and a $ 3 million payday, to do so he he gained 30 pounds for the role and Fiore promoted the movie with him. Then apparently the company offered Pesci $ 1 million and a lesser role. Fiore claims that “Before we had a deal, Mr. Pesci walked away”.
Barry Levinson helms the project which stars John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston and begins shooting January 3rd.
Meanwhile, Showbiz 411 writer Roger Friedman says that “The Devil’s Double” star Dominic Cooper may join the film playing John Gotti Jr., the son of Travolta’s criminal patriarch character.
