Oscar-winning scribe Dustin Lance Black (“Milk,” “J. Edgar”) is set to script the large scale disaster epic “Earthquake” for Universal Pictures and Bad Robot says Deadline.
Despite Universal owning the rights, this is NOT a remake of the 1974 Charlton Heston film of the same name. David Seltzer (“The Omen”) penned a previous draft several years ago but the project is only now gaining new momentum.
JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk will produce. The project is not to be confused with the rival “San Andreas 3D” which is set up at New Line.
