John Logan (“Hugo,” “Skyfall,” “Rango,” “The Last Samurai,” “Sweeney Todd”) has been hired to pen the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning 2005 stage musical hit “Jersey Boys” for GK Films and Sony Pictures.
‘Jersey’ tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons – a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. The group sold 175 million records worldwide before they were thirty.
The show has pulled in over $ 1 billion in ticket sales worldwide, and this film will use much of the same music from the stage show including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Oh What a Night” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”.
Graham King and Tim Headington are producing and Sony will distribute the film in almost all territories.
