Louise-Coleman Is New “Who” Companion

Former “Emmerdale” actress Jenna Louise-Coleman has been officially announced as the new companion to Matt Smith’s The Doctor in the upcoming seventh season of “Doctor Who” reports The Telegraph.

Coleman, who is also rumoured to be playing a non-human companion, will make her debut in this year’s Christmas special and will begin shooting her scenes in May. No character name or description has been given.

The Doctor’s current companions Amy and Rory will depart the show in the fifth episode of the series scheduled to air this Fall. Said episode will feature both a final encounter with the Weeping Angels and a “heartbreaking” end.

Only five episodes of ‘Who’ and the Xmas special will air this year. The remaining eight episodes of the seventh season will screen in early 2013.
