Summit co-founder and Lionsgate exec Rob Friedman says the company would happily move forward with a sixth film in the “Twilight” series, but it will depend upon author Stephenie Meyer penning another installment.
“If she (Meyer) wishes to do it, we’ll be there to support her” Friedman tells The Hollywood Reporter. Years ago Meyer half-completed then scrapped a fifth novel in the series entitled “Midnight Sun” after the early draft leaked online. So far she’s made no mention of working on a further story with Edward, Bella & Jacob.
Meanwhile it has been confirmed that the full trailer for the fifth film, “Breaking Dawn Part 2”, will debut exclusively on “The Hunger Games” in March. It will mark the first public showcase of synergy between Lions Gate and Summit since the former acquired the latter last month.
