Gerardo Naranjo (“Miss Bala”) is in negotiations to replace Joe Carnahan on the “Death Wish” reboot at MGM and Paramount.
Long attached, Carnahan left the project in February after being unable to find a leading star. He still remains credited for penning the script, based on the Brian Garfield story.
The original 1974 Charles Bronson-led thriller follows an architect whose wife is raped and murdered and his daughter savagely beaten by three hoods. Said architect becomes a one-man assassin killing criminals on the New York streets.
Roger Birnbaum will produce.
