Nicholas Sparks’ “Rescue” Goes German

Germany’s Senator Film is planning to adapt “The Lucky One” and “Dear John” author Nicholas Sparks’ 2000 novel “The Rescue” into a German-language feature says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story follows a firefighter who falls in love with a single mother, with the action to be shifted from North Carolina to Germany and set to be shot on location.

Germany is the largest market for Sparks’ books outside the United States. Senator reportedly hopes to make a series of German-language films based on Sparks’ body of work.
