Scribe Hired For “Sherlock Holmes 3”

Even though the second film is still two months away from opening, Warner Bros. Pictures is moving ahead with development of a third “Sherlock Holmes” says Variety.

British TV writer-producer scribe Drew Pearce (“Iron Man 3,” “No Heroics”) is confirmed to have been hired to pen the script. The first film used an original mystery, the second incorporates parts of A.C. Doyle’s story “The Final Problem”, no word on what the third film would consist of.

The studio pulled off a similar strategy two years ago when scribes Kieran and Michele Mulroney were brought on to pen the first sequel three months before the original came out. Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey, Dan Lin and Joel Silver are producing.
