Sofia Coppola is reportedly developing a film based on the infamous Bling Ring, also known as the Burglar Bunch, for her father’s Zoetrope label reports TMZ.
The ‘Bunch’ were a group, mostly consisting of teenagers, who burglarized the homes of several celebrities over the space of nearly a year back in late 2008 and 2009.
In total the group took around $ 3 million in cash and belongings, most of it from multiple robberies of Paris Hilton’s house However approximately fifty homes were reportedly targeted including Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom and Brian Austin Green.
The project doesn’t have a start date or even a script yet, however the film’s producers approached one of the group – Nick Prugo – about being a consultant on the film, but he declined. Instead Tess Taylor, sister of one of the other participants, has signed on to the project.
