Staff Change On Jeff Buckley Biopic “Boy”

While “Greetings From Tim Buckley” premiered in Toronto recently, the other (and officially sanctioned) Jeff Buckley biopic “Mystery White Boy” still hasn’t made it into production.

Now, Showbiz 411 (via The Playlist) seem to have discovered one possible reason why – a reshuffling of personnel behind the scenes.

At last report a few months ago, “Spider-Man” musical lead and “The Tempest” actor Reeve Carney was set to play the lead role while Jake Scott was directing. Now it seems “West Of Memphis” helmer Amy Berg has taken over directorial duties while Carney looks like he’s out of the running.

Ryan Jaffe (“The Rocker”) adapted the script from David Browne’s book “Dream Brother”. The story not only chronicles Buckley’s life story, but also has access to his catalog of music.

Gemma Arterton, Olivia Thirlby, Harry Treadaway and Patricia Arquette were also previously linked to roles, whether that’s still the case is unsure. Berg also recently signed on to direct the thriller “Every Secret Thing”.
