“The Exorcist” Gets Remade For TV

Nearly four decades after it established itself as one of (if not the) scariest film of all time, “The Exorcist” is getting a new angle – its becoming a limited TV series reports Vulture.

“Martha Marcy May Marlene” writer/director Sean Durkin is set to adapt William Peter Blatty’s best selling novel into a ten-episode television series for Morgan Creek and producer Roy Lee.

With its longer runtime the series will explore more of the events leading up to a demonic possession and the effects on the family that has to cope with it.

The project is expected to be shopped around to networks in June.
