Frequent TV director Brian Kirk, who was recently selected to make his feature directorial debut on the upcoming “Thor” sequel, is in negotiations to helm the rodeo film “Paper Wings” at Sony Pictures reports Showblitz.
The story follows a rodeo champ who falls for an up-and-coming country singer. Tom Cruise reportedly had a hand in Kirk’s selection and will work with him on the script. Cruise, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith participated in a table read of the script last Summer.
Kirk has directed some of the most acclaimed big budget cable drama series in recent years including “Game of Thrones,” “Dexter,” “Luther,” “The Tudors,” “Brotherhood,” “The Riches,” “Boardwalk Empire” and the upcoming “Luck”.
