Tom Cruise is in early talks to star in the Guy Ritchie-directed “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” film adaptation at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The original 60’s show follows the exploits of two secret agents, American Napoleon Solo and Russian Ilya Kuryakin who work for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E. The group fights off the evil machinations of a rival agency known as THRUSH.
Ritchie and producer Lionel Wigram took over the project when the previously attached George Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh both departed the project. Bradley Cooper was also previously linked to play Napoleon at one point.
