TV News: Strike, Weeds, Ferb, Human, Bones

Strike Back
Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, Rhashan Stone and Michelle Lukes will return for the official second (and unofficial third) season of Cinemax’s hit action series “Strike Back”. Ten new episodes will be shot on location in South Africa starting in January for debut later in 2012. [Source: ]

Weeds
Showtime has renewed the pot comedy “Weeds” for an eighth season. The 13-episode season will go into production sometime next year. [Source: Reuters]

Phineas and Ferb
“Phineas and Ferb,” Disney Channel’s animated series about two adventurous boys, has been renewed for a fourth season which means new episodes will be rolled out through out through 2014. The show has been TV’s top rated animated show for tweens in the last four years. [Source: The L.A. Times]

Being Human
SPOILER ALERT. Well someone’s let the cat out of the bag. In an interview promoting “Him and Her” actor Russell Tovey revealed that he’s left the original UK “Being Human” which will air its fourth season early next year. It’s likely his character will be killed off sometime during the upcoming season.

“I’ve actually left Being Human but no one [outside of the show] knows yet. Aidan’s left to film The Hobbit in New Zealand [with Peter Jackson] and going on without him on this fourth series felt strange.” However he says the show can definitely go on and on without him. [Source: The Guardian]

Bag of Bones
A&E Network has launched “Dark Score Stories”, an online prequel to the upcoming mini-series adaptation of Stephen King’s “Bag of Bones”. The website allows visitors to explore the setting and characters of the mini-series. [Source: darkscorestories.com]
