“X-Men: First Class” Sequel Title Set

Out doing promotion for his new online web series “H+”, filmmaker Bryan Singer has confirmed some old scoopage and added some fresh details about the much anticipated sequel to “X-Men: First Class”.

Speaking with IGN (via The Playlist), Singer says the film is going by the title “Days Of Future Past” which ain’t a shock considering reports the other month indicated that two-issue 1981 storyline from the comics would be employed in the sequel’s script. Fox has also purchased domain names under that title.

Said story in the comics alternates between the present day and a future timeline in which Sentinels rule the United States and mutants live in internment camps.

Along with this ambitious storyline, Singer says there are plans for some Marvel-esque connectivity between pictures in the X-Men universe. Which means likely more crossovers with existing characters (ala Wolverine in ‘First Class’) or dealing with events already seen in the three pre-First Class “X-Men” films and the two “Wolverine” spin-offs.

Scheduled to begin shooting early next year, “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” hits screens July 18th 2014.
