The Vancouver Comedy Fest is back, with a fresh twist: The September Series. One Weekend. One Room. Five Shows with all the laughs! The September Series runs September 22nd to the 24th, at the newly renovated Lafflines Comedy Club in the Columbia Burr Theatre in New Westminster.
The September Series is three nights of laughs with back-to-back shows featuring Reese Waters and a special presentation of Sirius XM Satellite Radios Canadas Next Top Comic Contestants.
Reese Waters is best known from his appearances on MTV, Good Morning America, Sirius Satellite Radio and NPR, followed by Waters mastery of his Comedy Central appearance Live at Gotham. Hailing from Washington, DC and introduced to comedy by his grandmothers hysterical impressions of everyone shes ever met, he took notice of the joy that comedy and stand-up comedy in particular, brought to his family, and wanted to be part of it. Before officially taking the stage, he amused himself in his high school dormitory by pouring gravy on toilet seats, planting newspaper in the dryer (it works, try it!!) and executing his self-titled Sour Milk Bomb.
Reese Waters now resides with an overweight tabby in Brooklyn, NY where he can be found watching CSI, Cold Case or Intervention during the five hours a week hes not watching ESPN. www.reesewaters.com
Sirius XM Satellite Radios Canadas Next Top Comic. hits the series stage on Thursday, September 22nd. local comics get 5 minutes of stage time which will be recorded live; the clip will then be put online and opened up to voting Canadians from October 3rd 31st. The online finalists will be given $ 1000 and sent to Toronto to perform 8-minute sets in a comic-showdown in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges. From there, Canadas Next Top Comic will be crowned and given $ 10,000. www.canadasnexttopcomic.com
