A glitch has Health authority reviewing diagnostic images for about 1000 patients

Vancouver Coastal Health staff are re-examining diagnostic images for about 1000 patients after a computer glitch.

Staff are writing letters to all patients who received diagnostic imaging at Vancouver General, UBC, and Richmond hospitals between March 18th and 21st.

Spokesman Gavin Wilson says “These are scans such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and a number of other different types of diagnostic imaging.”

Wilson says a glitch prevented radiologists from accessing an archive of images, and comparing them to current images.

He says the impact on patients should be zero to minimal.

The authority is just letting people know to stay transparent.
