Abbotsford Police seize $250,000, loaded pistol

A loaded pistol and a quarter of a million bucks.

That’s what Abbotsford Police seized Friday night around 7 o’clock from a minivan carrying two Canadians and a pair of Mexicans.

An experienced bike squad officer had a feeling something was amiss when he noticed the van weaving and travelling at low speed along the U.S. border in the Sumas Prairie area with a pair of passengers wearing camouflage clothing.

“His spidey senses were tingling and they told him something, and certainly his hunch was a good one,” constable Ian MacDonald told CKNW Saturday morning

Police have not recommended charges at this stage for the group.

The Canadians have been released, while the Mexicans, who are here legally, are being held for immigration authorities to deal with.
