Adrian Dix is calling on the Premier to deal with backlogs in BC’s courts

BC NDP leader Adrian Dix says serious criminals are being released thanks to delays in the court system — and instead of dealing with the problem, Premier Christy Clark is obsessed with televising the court proceedings of suspected rioters.

“We’ve got to be focused on ensuring that people charged with criminal offences are brought to trial…victims deserve that and we deserve that in British Columbia.”

Dix says televising the cases wouldn’t be his priority — and if Premier, he would focus to getting rid of the backlogs in the courts — which waste police and court resources.
