Vancouver school board chair Patti Bacchus is closing the door on provincial politics this time around.
The Vision Vancouver politician had long been rumoured to be considering a bid for Victoria in next year’s election.
“It’s absolutely a no for next year. It is always a temptation, and looking at where you can make the most change and most impact in a good way. I have wrestled with whether that’s at the school board level or the provincial level.”
At least two of Bacchus’ Vision colleagues are throwing their hats into the provincial ring.
City councillor Geoff Meggs will seek the NDP nomination in Vancouver-Fairview, while park board commissioner Constance Barnes will run in Vancouver-False Creek.
